Arylan Calling An Audible (Otto)
(Ch. Pecan Valley Passage to Juneau x Eklectic Arylan Secret Alibi)

You plan and you plan and you plan and then one day it all comes down to a spur-of-the-moment decision based upon hazy evidence and a heap of intuition. That's how I came to breed Ali (now back with her breeder Becky Harding)) to Barbara Luce's Juneau.  Only 2 puppy boys came from the breeding.  One was a blue merle much like Otto, but more moderate in every way - nice - pretty much what I was expecting.  The other, Otto, was what I was hoping for. big boned, in your face, extremely sociable, full of confidence, the fastest soundly moving Cardigan I've ever seen.  It's less a matter of showing Otto than just tagging along and trying to keep up. He makes his own relationship with the judge.  Case in point: a 5 point major on his 2nd show weekend, out of coat and somewhat bothered by an echoey first indoor show venue.
Otto is not a perfect Cardi.  But he fits right into where we're headed here at Arylan and I expect a breeding to Chickie in the Fall and to her offspring next year to keep us moving us in the right direction. Meanwhile he's a blast to show and hang out with.
     Better photos coming soon.
